Firstly, thanks

.
However r.e. gpx750 vs gpz600 i understand that they are hugely different overall. However looking at the part diagrams on buykawasaki.com it seemed that the only physical difference between the rear shocks for the different models was that the air valve for the gpz had a kink in the line to the air pressure adjustment twiddly thing. Everything else shockwise seemed identical, aside from the fact that the unitrak on the gpx seemed to be of a slightly more refined build, so that is why i took the presumption that lead me to buy this very shock.
Having a Haynes manual and a OEM manual now (rx'd in post this morning) it seems that i've got about a fair chance of it fitting. However i'm going to go down the route of "giving it a shot for the hell of it" for one simple reason. I've already bought the b*(#)$y thing!!!
Then again in the past i have fitted a pair of progressive suspension shocks designed for a vn1500 to a LTD450 with the only sacrifice being a15mm lower rear end and it actually handled extremely well afterwards!!
So i take the "not designed for" with a small grain of salt, the only thing that'd stop me is a physical incompatability in its measuring up.
Then again i've rebuilt bikes with only so much as a manual, a slight clue, and a LOT of enthusiasm and have it work.
