Redwing honda what a joke

Postby circlework » Thu Feb 23, 2006 6:56 pm

Well red wing can suck my fat one. They had my zx2r for three weeks. not once did they call me regarding problems, in the end i had to call back every time to go to the next step. monday last week i told them to find out why the engine was running really rough, yesterday he tells me they were waiting on my go ahead(dick) already told ya to go ahead and do it.
Originally took it there to get my rev tacho fixed, after i pick it up tonight it dies again 10 min into the trip. bike was runnin so bad that i had to take it to Greensy moto, didnt wanna chance go any further out, but what a waste of time, was planning on going on a ride wit mates with w/k now thats off

Never take your bike to a dealership. Shithouse service, overpriced, and full of apprentices.

Well took it greensy moto, and got them to give it a service as well. Turns out why the bike sounded so bad was a farked spark plug, i mean at honda they put it up on the stand(or so they said) and couldnt figure it out. now ive got the dilemma weather i should take it back to them to get my rev tacho fixed AGAIN

I use em to buy gloves and helmets, order oem parts and always check the parts before I leave the store. I'd never buy a S/H bike through one. The trading post etc is the way to go, you save between 20-50% on the price of a S/Hand bike going private and you get what you see generally. Not some "hack" that a bikeshop has covered over and prissed up just so they can pull a few extra thou out of a punters pocket. :x

As for getting work done -

While I am always vocal about crap service and unscrupulous dealings, I am also the first to also admit that there are also fantastic dealers out there that don't charge too much, and also offer exceptional service. Don't tar them all with the same brush. Just because a dog bit you, it doesn't mean all dogs will.

The local honda dealer near my place where i bought my 1st bike(cbr250rr) screwed me around so much that i will never ever walk into another honda shop again.

First i went to pick my bike up after waiting two weeks even though it was already there at the shop(some bullshit about title??????)took the day off work went down at specified time and two hours later and after buying about two grand worth of gear still no bike.(title bullshit again :( )

Three days later i got my bike,2 wks later bike wouldn't start so i clutched it took it down there and bought a new battery.I asked them to test the charging system for me which they apparently did and said it was fine.

The next sunday arvo i was up on glorious and the damn thing just died, a two hundred dollar tow later i was home, rang them monday and they picked the bike up then told me that the battery was faulty and they would replace it under warranty.I asked the to do a service for me while they had it and when i went to pick it up they slugged me $400 including $30 to pick the bike up.(not happy jan)

Battery shit its self again a couple of days later and i took it to yamaha sure enough the reg rec was shagged(apparently a common problem)
honda refused to give me my money back on the battey because i had gone some where else.

I HATE HONDA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree... If there is a problem with a dealer... we want to know about it.... dont worry, we have brains of our own, so we can decide if we still want to go there or not...
The world is round. It has no point.

I don't want to sound like a dick but i got my power commander fitted at redwing and they did such a good job of it they keep a copy of the dyno run of my bike in the dyno room (so they told me) to show what good a job they do. Aparently they've never seen a bike virtually double it's power in the 2 - 8000rpm range before. I've been taking it back ever since. They are great to me. Polite, punctual they even went out of their way for a few thing's for me. I'd recomend if anyone want's a custom map for their bike, let Dean take care of it. He's a wizard. Floyd Parkes Kawasaki in fentree gully take their race bike's to redwing.
It's not a tuma.
