Like where? Maccas? Where they get treated the same and deal with just as many wankers?

Hence the reason I outlined the correct procedures for you to follow, rather than just getting advice from 4 million people with different opinions.

Just before this topic (like so many before it on ksrc-au) turns into an exploration of everyone's voyeuristic fascination with gay sex, can I throw in my two cents worth on an earlier post.

Well, let me just take this opportunity to say that most of my recent dealing with the police has been through my local police station (Footscray), whether it was reporting a burglary, a lost dog, a found dog, buggers parking across my driveway, or witnessing signatures on stuff like loan applications. The people there are genuinely great guys and girls, they are always helpful, always friendly, they have done a great job of reducing burglaries and other crime in our area and really reach out to the local community, and anyone who says they're cunts is a cunt. (Apologies for the c word).

I've also got to say that the various times I've been pulled over (in some cases for doing the wrong thing) the Victorian police have always been professional and polite. So just to clarify, the dickhead copper on the Hume who was doing 200ish with no lights or sirens is very much the exception to the rule. I guess it's one of those things, you don't talk about how great Telstra is for the 99.9% of the time that your phone works great, but you'll tell anyone who cares about the 0.1% of the time it didn't.

I'm sure you're no less cynical for reading this, and I don't blame you with all the shit I'm sure you guys have to put up with for that $1300 a fortnight...

And believe it or not, but most coppers do the job because they actually do give a shit about making the community a better place to live.

Just because we are making pricks of ourselves, doesn't mean we have to speak to members of the public like inbreds. I always tell people that the fine I'm handing out is a reflection on what they've done, not on them.

Yep, sounds like he needs a kick in the arse.

Hello Shifty,

I have had something similar happen on the M1 a few years ago - a cop nearly wiped 5 of us out and a few cars while in persuit of a bike doing 1k over the limit. Do what I did if you are sure of all the details of the event and cars (both the cops and 4WD). This is what I did:

Write a letter to your state councillor/member of Qld. Parliament outlining your concerns and obviously put your view to them that this guy is a dangerous driver. In the letter do not get excited, just put your point of view (it took me three drafts before I was satisfied) don't change any aspect of your 'evidence' or details and make sure you put down that this was a dangerous action. Speak to the office of your concillor and explain it to them and the councillor with decide whether to pass this to the police minister who can make a decision on this. Before you do this, make sure you are certain of all the events and details. If your councillor passes this on to the minister then you will receive a letter stating that it is being investigated. I was offered a meeting with the officer in questions' superior officer where I told him that I didn't want a CJC investigation, just someone in authority to tell him to be more careful or he will kill someone. Just remind them that not everyone on the road is a driving hero and not everyone has the reflexes to deal with that situation and he could have easily scared someone else into doing something extremely dangerous in panic. Its up to you, but if you take this path just check with yourself that you are willing to front these people - it doesn't help you if you withdraw the statements etc later (and they will try and make you).

DO NOT BOTHER WITH THE POLICE COMPLAINTS PEOPLE OR THE STATION WHERE THAT OFFICER IS BASED - YOUR LETTER WILL JUST GO 'MISSING' or they will deny it ever existed. Believe me, I know...
Happiness is not around the corner, Happiness IS the corner!
