i am currently using Optusnet BB. Its 67.00 a month for 12 gig and yes its quite fast. every fourth month is free so it works out to bout 40.00 a month. i hit my limit in 6 days this month, so im on a limiter of 64kbs at the moment. (WHat can i say Viva La bam rocks)
But with my plan u need a landline already with optus as well as a mobile, but only the BB stays locked on the contract u can change your mob or home phone after ya make the deal. hope this helps a bit.
Check out my web page for some pics

Telstra Bigpond broadband here. $59 a month for unlimited/128, 10Gb then drops to 64kbps - am presently connceted to the world wide wait. Does anyone do a service that doesn't slow you down or limit your downloads?

Dodo did a 512 unlimited plan i used to be on that then tpg was faster and cheaper and i only hit there limit once.

All this carry on is since condiminco went broke they where the wholesale carrier for a lot of these isps and fell over in december/january i think.

Anyways go to http://www.whirlpool.net.au and check out the plans, I am still with tpg and looking for a adsl2 carrier without much luck. :?

Seems you have to change carriers every 12 months or so weather you like it or not.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

That's the spirit! Don't ever ring Adam for support, though... they're all about 12 and have no idea.. that's why they offer broadband so cheap - minors' labour costs :P

Let me know when all the shit comes in and I'll come over and set it all up for you.
Listening to you is like being bukkaked with stupid.

I dunno, I've been with the same ISP since 1996 (oZramp). Nothing to do with quality service, I'm just too lazy to change. In the meantime, my ISP just keeps getting bought out by other ISPs. I've lost track of all the name changes, I think they had gone from being Lexicon to EFtel last time I checked.

most other ISP's just start charging after your download limit is reached, which is preferable in my books... if I have a 12GB plan and I want to download 16, I recon $3 per gig is fair enough....

I get 1500/256, 12GB for $59

i was with optus for 5 yrs for the same reason..laziness..even tho i was paying too much...the customer service was good...
they say u must give a month notice to diconnect..however when i mentioned my 5 yrs..they disconnected it in a day (i still got it till 28th tho)

Mate forget the rest, http://www.iinet.net.au is where its at.

The gamers at work put me onto em.

1500/256kbps ADSL lite user 3+3gig, $50 p/month.

If you bundle your home phone with em and you go the lite user ADSL plan with 1500/256 kbps and double your download limit to 6+6Gig on/off peak download and its only $40p/m, shaped to 64k after you hit limit no extra charges for excess download. Your upload doesn't come off your limit either, good for bittorrent :D

All up cost of about $75-80 p/m for me, that includes line rental on phone, cost of a few local calls. Toll calls charged quarterly.

And they just upgraded my exchange to ADSL2, id have 6000/1000kbps for no extra charge if i could be bothered to buy the modem, but I'll settle for the 3000/500 that i get with the old modem....still 50 times faster than 56k dial up.

but i can get 10GB at 2400 ADSL2 for $40 a month without bundling shit...and i dont use the phone (so im on like a $18 plan with telstra)....and if i max out the 10gb it gets shaped at 64..but im use to 44..so like i will care...seems too good to be true..so i did it the other day..just awaiting them to set it up...prob another few days..

Well when Telstra called me to ask why i'd closed my account 12 months ago i told em what package i got, and they said "Oh we have nothing to match that, good day" And neither did dodo my dialup supplier....

telstra lifted their game huh??

Sounds good!
