Those videos aren't my best laps by far, in the rear-view lap I stuffed up turn 2 and untill I got through turn 5 I had a CBR1000RR (of all things) holding me up

I'll go through my tapes and try and find a nice clean lap to post up.

HAHAHAHAHAAHHAAAAAAAAAAAA I cant stop laughing...

Not at you mind you... You did awesome....

I was laughing at the "big bikes" behind you......... That guy on the thou was having some real trouble..... Running wide every corner etc....

I wonder if any of them are thinking of trading in their bikes on a zx2r... hahahahaha.....

Awesome work...
The world is round. It has no point.

Yeah the guy with the CBR1000RR was a friends friend. First time out on the track and he said he was contantly worried about binning his bike.

It's frustrating on a small bike when you can catch bigger bikes through turns but they pin the throttle on the straights and get back past you :P However it's very satisfying when you get past and dont see them again for the session, when you've built your gap from corner speeds :)

Stereo I'll get a picture of my camera setup, I use a Panasonic NV-GS50 handycam and a remote lens mounted in a rubber door stop. That way I can just move the lens around the bike and the handycam stays 'safe' under the passenger seat in some insulation.

That 'guy' on the CBR was me. I'll admit I aint the best rider (pretty shit) but Mallala is a very tight circuit and is much more suited to smaller bikes. 7THSIN was very fast around the corners and I know he kicked my ass. I know what I was doing wrong and have corrected them but its true you dont want to go full boar in fear of binning something that cost $$$. But hey these are just excuses and well see next track day eh?

Err, yes. Excuses. And not even very good ones. Being beaten around Mallala by a 250 on your 'blade has nothing to do with the bikes and everything to do with the rider.

viffer400 I wasnt having a dig at you, dont take it the wrong way.
You should have seen me the first time I went to Mallala

The purpose of everyones first track day is to bring themselves and the bike home undamaged, then you work from there.

Send me a PM, I've got all the vids from the day on the computer and I can burn them on a CD for you, actually, check your PM's anyway I've sent you some pics :)

I wont be making it out to Mac Park this month but I'll be out at Mallala again when I've paid off the credit card
Paid for some braided brake lines today, and I've got to get new front pads and a front tyre then I'll be out at the track again. Hope to see you there

7TH,

Cheers for the pics :) I had forgotten about them I will try and find the ones I took. I knew you weren't havin a go at me I just felt I had to explain some things from reading the previous posts. I can't go to MAC park either as I don't have the dosh for a new set of tyres or the time for a whole weekend would have been good though, see you at the next mallala meet (hopefully). PM sent

Aard,

Whats the problem? I said I was shit and he was good. Ask anyone around the track and they'll tell you for the relative amatuer a smaller bike is a lot easier to go fast around mallala than a big bike. Sure an A grader is gonna go faster no matter the track but for a newbie it does make a difference. Yeh i was beat by a 250 but it wasnt a race now was it? For me a trackday isnt about who you can beat but more about having a blast and learning more and more about riding bikes which I did, not binning it is always good too.
I was struggling with the bike that day but from that I have made a lot of changes to the way I ride for the better.

Man I must be fucking bored at work to write up this shit.

I would be prepared to bet that you would have been slower on the 250 around the same track.

And besides, you ride a Honda, and that's what we do here. Hang shit on Honda riders. With enough public humilation you might eventually see the error of your ways and buy a Kwakka.
