Yeppers - once again we have different but confusingly similarly named ways of measuring the same thing.

Cool, that was an interesting link, and made me dig out an old book that has the following info re. RON and MON figures.......

the AI referred to in the link (Anti-Knock Index), used to be called the PON (Pump Octane Number) in the US, and is *quote* a very creditable rating of a fuel's performance under actual road conditions *unquote*

I could not find any reference to the 'sensitivity' thing that was mentioned in the link though........

I hope Tape gets a sniff of this thread, I am sure he could add some further good input......

still, 91 Octane ??? WTF ??? :wink: ( wonder how it would go on 98 :P )
