Obscured Numberplates

Postby ninja9 » Tue Feb 14, 2006 7:24 pm

Watched on the telly the expose' on people who deliberately obscure their numberplates. I know "someone" who has their rego partly blocking the first couple of letters on their numberplates. I just wondered if "he" was the only one.

I believe "he" hasn't received a speeding fine/toll evasion notice or been pulled over by the police.

however 1 nite the cop was gunna fine me for having the label below the plate, even tho its not obscured, and he was gunna fine me the $360 odd for "intent"....wot a mongrel....

Cheaper (here in NSW) just to obscure yr number plate. I think it is about $65 for obscuring it.

PhotoMike got told in no uncertain terms to move it.... The cop waited until he had moved it before moving on...

I've got my stricker on the left hand side of the swing arm
in plain view

what can i say ......... no use covering the Number plate think they might work it out anyway

Plus the 10R only does 100kph ......... ok so it's in first at about 8000 rpm

My sticker was bolted at right angles to the left side of the plate. It didn't obscure any numbers if viewed directly from the rear, but probably would have done from the side.

Plates need to be displayed so that all letters are clearly visible on a level plane between 3 and 18 metres at 180 degrees.

now who was it that suggested you bend the RH side of the plate about 30-deg, so that the last number is invisible to the roadside cameras? I did that straight away, scratched the plate a bit too so it looks like I backed into something. Time will tell.

Check out http://www.mannsmotorsports.com/fastags/

I know someone very much like me that used to have one on a 636

and 'NO' your plate doesn`t need any modification
