Hmmmmm didn't Neka just get a fine for doing something they said wasn't in control of the vehicle .......... but if he didnt crash then going by the officer's opinion it wasnt wrong

as always 2 different Laws one for them one for me
Like if i park on a nature strip i get a fine
but they park their speed cameras on it

Shifty you could write to your local minister about it

yea mate...been done for it twice...and both times in perfect control...

a few weeks b4 xmas we were all out riding...abt 10 of us late one sat nite...some clown in a VL turbo decides to race my mate (R1) off the lights..as i take off, not as fast as them, but not real slow ..i see this car come screaming up at warp speed....i hold my lane, and one of my mates almost knocks me over getting out of the way of the car we see coming up...i thought it was MR VL's mate..it was a marked copper, no lights or siren....pulls up the car & tries to get the bike, however he chucks a u turn & dissapears..havent seen him since...

copper almost cleaned up 3 bikes to catch a speeding car & bike...

Put the complaint in writing and send it straight to the top (I'm not familiar with the structure of the QLD force, but the chief commisioner or equvilent).

thats fine, but it will go through 4 levels of admin, 3 committees and the HR Manager before it *maybe* lands on his desk.......letters to the *top* are rarely (if ever) read by the Big Kahuna.......

It stands a better chance if you address it to the Local Area Commander, with a c.c to your local Member, and the Ombudsman.........that'll get 'em movin'........

basically after he got past us, and got closer to the car & bike that were racing he put on his disco lights...the bike pulled over, so he kept going after the car....as he did that the bike did a u turn..mind u by now the cop had parked & 1 of em was running towards the car & the other cop was running down the road trying to get the bikes rego....
15min later we got followed by the helicopter ...followed us to a freinds place, where we called it a nite..

aardvark - what's that supposed to mean? I have a legitimate complaint about extremely dangerous driving... I'm not sure what's funny about it.

Jonno - I'm no more unlucky than the next guy, I'm just on the road more than the average punter so I get to see it all!

OK, you almost getting killed isn't funny, but the rest of this thread is.

Don't get me wrong, coppers shouldn't be putting the lives of innocent members of the public at risk by their actions. At the least, when invloved in some sort of intercept, a vehicle should have either lights or sirens on, preferably both.

If you really want to make a complaint, then your first port of call is to complain to the officer in charge of the station where the Police officer is stationed. The officer in charge is normally the sergaent sitting on his arse in the front office doing nothing. He/She should give you a Police complaints form, and if they don't, insist on one as it is your right to be given one.

If you don't know where the copper is from, then attend any station.

If you don't have any luck heading down that path, then go to the QLD Police HQ and make the complaint there.

There are two types of complaints against Police. A complaint involving a breach of discipline and one involving misconduct. It's not really up to you to decide which category this falls into.

Don't bother writing to the Commisioner, or your MP, or your grandmother or..... you get the idea. It'll take forever for anything to happen.

Forgive me for laughing, but when I go to work each day and do a job that you get no thanks for, where everyone out on the road thinks your a cunt, and everyone is out to get you, sometimes I am left with no choice but to laugh. These same people that dispise you are the ones that ultimatley are controlling the accelerator pedal or the steering wheel, are the ones that cost innocent people their lives and are the first ones to call you when they have something to sook about.

I guess I'm just getting a little cynical with age.

ah get over it,

No one was hurt, the copper got his quota that doesnt exist and you got to vent to someone who is paid to pretend to care.

All in all, It's a pretty good setup.

It's not like he pulled you over, did ya for your can, told you ya indicators out and your backtyres unroadworthy because he didnt wanna risk overtaking you to get to the one actually breaking the law.

Fair, but remember that your thanks is your pay. A lot of people forget that. The $1300/fortnight (guess) you get in the bank is your thanks for showing up to work and copping whatever shit it is that you get.... and if you really hated your treatment that much you would work somewhere else. You think kids at Maccas get treated much better? Sure there lives aren't really in danger but they get paid 30c an hour and I bet they deal with just as many wankers as you do.

As for everyone thinking you're a carn, I work in the insurance industry so don't even start on me... have you any idea how many 'conspiracy theory' turkeys I have to deal with? :)

If a copper did 120 past me at a safe distance and wasn't a bee's dick from punting that car into my path then I would have thought "crikey, glad he's not chasing me" and that would have been the end of that. I understand that speed is not dangerous when used appropriately(so do the police, despite the campaigns) and that it is necessary to break other rules to do their job correctly.

The thing that gets me is he's supposed to be protecting people by using professional discretion to police road rules safely... yet his conduct is by far the most dangerous thing I've seen on the road this month. He appeared to be treating his position of authority as a license to completely disregard all sense and reason, rather than to exercise appropriate care to intercept an offender.

If you spend 20 seconds at 115km/h in an EIGHT LANE 80km/h zone, is it really reasonable to have your life put in danger by some uniform-wearing maniac who thinks he's saving the world? I think not.
