When did you get "THE BUG"?

Postby ZX10R King » Sun Jan 29, 2006 9:41 am

Found an old photo to prove it was my parents fault for why I ride a bike now. They gave me THE BUG way back on a holiday.

18 months ago. I had never even sat on a motorbike in my life,a bike flew past me driving to work one day and i thought to myself i gotta get one.

I had no idea,at Q-ride i even had to ask how the gears worked 7 hours later i had my licence bought a cbr250rr and now i ride a zx10.

I'll never own a car again. :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

I have no pictures of my first ride :(

But I exposed someone else to it as soon as I could.

I got my first ride on a motorbike when I was 10 (Mid 1970's  ). It was the next door neighbours (we lived on big farms) CT90. I rode it for about ten minutes and then he went home. I then didn't get to ride another one until I bought my first motorvehicle the CB400 four Supersport Honda, when I was 17 (1983  )! :D
Then I bought a Ducati in 1984. But I never really got passionate about bikes then until I was in my mid twenties, and a guy who lived next door to me took me for a ride on his CBR1000. That was it I was Hooked. You see this guy was an Irishman, who could actually ride! So he took me around corners cranked riiiiiiiiiiiigggghhhhhttttt over! :D

And that was really how I got the bug!

There are really only two questions in life. 1.Which way do i go? 2.What is the lap record?

10 years old and dad brings home a honda step through for use on the farm. Then prgoressed to a mighty Honda CB175 (That was a wee beastie) before crashing my brothers RM80, his XR500 and getting caught riding his CB400 on the road with no license by the local copper. Then I rode an RGV250, took a break for a while and got fed up with sydney traffic and needed a toy! Then GS500 and now Bessie, my black Z750. Shes so purty!

well i ahd teh bug before i was born, mum would ride pillion with my dad untill she couldnt hold on or fit due to the bump, was 7 months with my bro and 8 months with me...

then as sson as i could sit dad woudl put me on the bike for fun and make noises like we ere actually riding, then onc ei could hold on that was it always on teh bike, used to get irden to school most mornings or get picked up.....

so i thank my dad for giving me the "bug" yet when it came to the crunch he didnt wnat me to get my licence, somethng about me being his baby girl, i told him i would always be that, but i wanna be on a bike...so he gave in and here i am riding around and enjoying every km i ride....
