Availability of ZX10R and ZX14?

ZX6R, ZX10R, ZX14R, Ninja 1000 etc

I can't wait to test a 14, if they are lighter than the 12 then it may be a good replacement for the 'bird. Is it really lighter because I cannot find any useful figures on weight or power?

I'm thinking that Kawasaki were planning on say 185hp, but then they heard people talking about 200hp so now they're trying to get there and aren't saying anything until they do! :)

The lack of confirmed power/weight figures was what led me to believe that the ZX14 was further away than the 10.

NB: I hope the tacky '1000' sticker on the green one is NOT a factory one... ghey ghey ghey. The silver one looks much cleaner.

Pics of the ZX14 for anyone who hasn't seen (below). The rear is very reminiscent of 80's Kwaka tails and those of ZZRs.

In every respect it feels better than the ZX6R (636) and you know what, I reckon once I decide between the '04/'05 and '06 models (waiting to see in the flesh before shitcanning it) I'll have one in the garage

So shifty are you talking engine wise or handling wise or both?

I have never tried one but think the extra tourque would make it a more flexible thing rather than having to try to keep the bike in the range so to speak you could just tracktor out of a corner.

Present thing on the 636 is you have a range that works and if your not in it you miss out.

Wouldnt be in the market for a 10r roadie but have seen some at the insurance auctions at times in not too bad condidition...they have good stocks of zx6rs in 03 /04 models atm.
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

I've been told by my local Kawasaki dealer to expect the ZX10R on the floor in late February, has anyone else heard different?

Also, when are the ZX14s supposed to land... I get the impression they're a fair bit further away.

I got told this morning (Bkwaka)
that both the 10 and 14 will be available at the end of February

gotta wait then.... :(

Bob - The whole thing just felt completely different! I'm not sure if there's much change in the way of suspension, etc, but the 10R just felt better full stop. The laziness factor is also great, you don't have to "work it" around town to get up to merge speed, pick a gap, etc... and I reckon somehow that lends itself to a more kind outlook on the bike in general.

Smitty - If she really is the same weight as the 12 then I'm definitely going to ride one...
