Look what you've started now Diesel   "......My ET is bigger than your ET........ner ner....."....." Well my trap speed was WAAAAAY bigger than your puny 235.6547 kmh !! nyah nyah....."

If you dont break into the 10's at your next meeting, you should give bikes away mate

(For someone who has only owned his 9 for a few months, that is a great time, well done.)

Hey Gos,

we should head up to Syd for the bike night @ WSID one day! (well night!) I'd be interested in putting the bike down the strip

*promises not to hijack Diesels thread*....but I'm hearin' ya Swab's......

There is a Tri-State challenge coming up shortly, there have been threads on a couple of other forums about this, and it sounds like a good night......only problem for me is that they are generally mid-week meetings, which makes it hard for a one-night attendance......

will check out the details and bung 'em up.......I think the 12 would be reasonably quick over the quarter

*gently hands Diesel's thread back over*

Apparently you can cut a good second off your time by practising your starts for a few hours...

Also gearing is really important.... apparently drop a tooth on the front sprocket and add one to the rear for faster accelleration, is that right?
The world is round. It has no point.

The general rule for the gearing is that you want to cross the finish line at peak RPM so if its 13000 thats what you want to reach at the 395metre mark

Use to run a car in the pro drags about 10-15 yrs ago
best was 10.1
feels like a lifetime ago now though

Vince what was the 330 foot time and reaction time
i think you 60 foot mark was a little slow but great first time
as long as you have fun and dont drop that bike on the trailer then thats all thats important

i managed a best of 10.79 on my '01 9R down here in Tassie, with 60 foot times around 1.8sec. Drag racing's all about ya reaction times and that first 60 feet!!! most of my reaction times over the years have been aroud 0.5 - 0.7sec which is pretty good. different people like to launch the bike in different ways, I found 4 - 5000rpm without riding the clutch too much works best for me. Good luck with it!!!

well done vinny....its an awesome feeling huh...
ppl forget that u havent had that much bike exp..so stuff em...

i did 11.1 as my best time, but it can depend on temp at track, road grip (heat related)....that doesnt even take in rider skill....then uve got gearing, and suspension...

i rode mine to the track, and had near standard gearing on my bike (2 up on back)...and the most important thing abt my times, was that i had a farkin ball & didnt get fined...

so do it as much as u like vinny, and enjoy it mate...
