My week at work...

Postby aardvark » Wed Jan 18, 2006 8:37 pm

I'd suggest that no-one gives a shit, but the Tour Down Under is currently on in sunny SA. Each day until Sunday I sit under a tree for a couple of hours, stop the traffic when the bikes are getting close, then go home.

Today I was in Tanunda, sitting in the shade near a vineyard.

To make you all jealous, I'll take a couple of photos each day and put them in here.

Todays photo was taken with my phone, on it's lowest setting so I could send them to other suckers stuck in offices.

(And yes, that's the latest AMCN sitting under my screen)

At least it makes it worthwhile to turn up for the pay check, so who or how many did you kill to get into that job 8)

That BMW trip you had/won and riding one for work has a few things that seem strangely closely related :?

Brings to mind some Banjo Patterson...

....In my wild erratic fancy visions come to me of Clancy

Gone a-droving down the Cooper where the Western drovers go;

As the stock are slowly stringing, Clancy rides behind them singing,

For the drover's life has pleasures that the townsfolk never know. .....

:) :) :)
Just one more law and everyone will be safe.

What makes me feel slightly better is looking at the thing you have to ride.
It's really all about standing around drinking Dave's beer.

I couldn't be bothered updating on the other days, so here's all the pics in one go.

Again, all pics taken on the crappy phone.

Was bloody hot today. 46 on the road side, 38 degrees under the crappy golf umbrella they gave us. As you can see, I tied mine to my rear light. Made all the difference and was glad to have it. I drank about 5 litres of water today. Luckily I don't have to work out in heat like this on too many days.

Didn't have to kill anyone. Someone decided they didn't want to do it anymore. Well, that's more story and I'm sticking to it.

Yes, but wait until he gets to his traffic point. Then he'll be sitting on the side of the road like me.

Hey its a tuff job but someones got to do it. :D

Think theyy would send ya a airconditioned caravan to sit in with a water cooler in it. :P
If I rode my bike at the speed of light, what would happen when I switched on its headlights?

Since I don't have an aircon at home, work probably thinks I don't need one when I'm at work.
