Pics of the aftermath of my first ever crash.

Postby varden » Sun Jan 15, 2006 9:00 pm

Not too bad i reckon. Bent shift arm, smashed peg bracket, smashed rear duck tail, torn pillion and rider seat and bashed and bent subframe....but apart from the atomic wedgie from sliding on my ass feet first along the track I'm okay..

I had to fall off sooner or later, just wish it wasn't so early in the track day

Bugger, sorry to hear of your off. If you don't mind telling - what actually happened? Glad you got a wedgie, I mean thats all you got, you know what I mean.

Crashes are never good, but good to hear you came out unscathed, and hopefully will have the bike back to tip-top condition soon :)

Nice skills Glenn, to minimise the damage from the off. It will actually probably look better after the repairs then it did before the "drop" :P
So did you manage to beat Lisa's times on her CBR4, she was getting the feel back from what i saw, Top Stuff. I left as you headed out on it for the first go after lunch ?.
Has "Slappy Strawbs" talked you into going racing yet ..... he's a persistent little bugger & i know he's ordered a thousand liters of Orange paint for us..
See you, lisa & the bikes at Morgan Park, end of feb if not before mate.
Cheers Brett

Bad luck man...

Hey maybe we can get a bulk discount on the duck tails if we buy them together...

too much throttle on the exit of turn 3 just as i hit the second apex, still cranked right over, i had my knee on the ground and only my left leg slung over the bike so when it stepped out the rest of me followed my knee onto the ground. The throttle snapped closed when i bailed and the bike flipped and slid down the track ahead of me.

Yeah Brett i cut 1 min 37 second laps on her 400, and man its a pig to ride. I thought it'd be great, I'm going to blame the square tyres.

Drim reckons that the times I'm doing on the ZX6R would put me mid pack in superstock, and i know theres more pace in me. I'll ditch those poxy OEM pilot sport tyres first.

I gotta agree with your idea of getting rid of those Pilot Sports, Best thing I ever did on my 636!

I saw a green 636 go down at MP because of 9500km old Pilot Sports. Who would have thought they would be worn out with so little km's on them, but damn his single seat cowl looked good until he crashed.

I would have thought that *sports* tyres would be well and truly stuffed at almost 10,000km ?? :?

if they were touring tyres, heh no worries.......that would be *relatively* low km.......but they were Pilot *Sports* ......

Fark...I get 6000km outta a BT014 rear and I think I'm doing bloody well.

Pity about the off Varden.......looks easily salvagable though.

How many paramedics did it take to pull your leathers outta your clacker after the atomic wedgie?
