well, unless all the other answers have put you right off, there are a couple of cheap and easy things you can do straight away.....
1. Get good sticky tyres. Make sure your wheel alignment is correct;
2. Set up your suspension properly - does your bike wallow through corners ? Check the owners manual, and set up the compression and rebound damping to suit your weight. This might mean the difference between wallowing through a corner, and gliding through smoothly.....its the simple things that cost nothing that should be all done first.......
3. Make sure your carburettion is correct. A *sports* zorts might sound good, but unless its jetted correctly, is a total waste of money.....
and all the advice about saving your money, for mods on a much better bike, are 100% correct......you can't polish a turd.......
