how'bout this doesnt turn into another sh!tfight.

ride organisers are not liable in anyway for what happens to someone on the ride. If you choose to ride without the proper safety gear - its your skin and no one elses.

and honestly - who gives two hoots if someone private messages or rings a mate they've met through the site and says, hey, wanna go for a quick blat through the hills... none of anyone elses business appart from the people involved in the "ride"

there may be reasons for it, you never know.

Well maybe Brett himself should respond, instead of one of his disciples.

How about it Brett, why is it that these newbie rides are unposted?

Obviously not all the newbies know about them. Or is this just for a selected few?

I wouldnt say i'm one of Brett's disciples - considering im in melbourne - and only met the bloke three times.

On a lighter note - if everytime we hope on two wheels we gotta post it.

at 4.00pm EDST I will be leaving my location of bacon earning to ride home. IF anyone would like to come for a casual stroll down the westgate for 20 minutes. Feel free. for more info, PM me.

Ride details.

Leaving the corner of Spencer/Collins Streets at 4pm.

At least that would be more in the Club spirit
Instead of the fracturing of the club that we are seeing currently in Qld?

It's certainly not my intention to fight with anyone.

hmmm, I actually missed the rest of this so until my PM box lit up I didn't know what was going on....
If ppl have a problem with something that is being posted and they don't want to aggravate the situation be responding, I have no issue with ppl PMing me with there comments.... Its what I don't get paid for..:-)

I think this was a storm in a tea cup (as usual) and we will be putting things in place to help resolve these things.... or not... :roll:

well it certainly accelerated from the original posting about some newbie who didn't wear her gloves or a jacket to an organised ride....... :shock:

I thought Qld was booming at the moment, you guys up there seem to be getting a big proportion of the newer riders ?? If some of the regulars are dropping off, it could be for reasons that have very little to do with KSRC itself, I guess they are the only ones who can answer that.

I have 'nanna'ed' a lot of newer riders over the years, most of them close mates, I know they appreciated the effort, it does make it difficult if you normally thrash pretty hard, but I offer the following solution.......

Grade your Rides.

eg - Level 1 Ride - specifically for newbies, post it up so all the punters are aware, and then no-one is 'left out', and the hard chargers can either take part for instructional purposes, or not;

Level 2 Ride - More like your regular ride, for the average punter who is past the learning stage, but not a full-tilt 'scratcher', or does not have a full-on sports bike. This Level would be your normal 'Lets go for a nice ride/slightly fast fang for a coffee' type ride;

Level 3 Ride - Full on scratch. Hard chargers only need apply. If you can step up to the plate, then bring it on. Don't forget your gloves :wink: No chicken strips allowed....(or, if you still have them, you won't after a Level 3 ride :twisted: )

Thats plenty of variation, everyone can see what is happening, and we can all live happily ever after.

just my 2c worth...........
