Postby AJ » Thu Dec 22, 2005 8:59 pm

Im curious what time people have managed to get on the zx6r, mainly the 05 model, but also the others.
As im considering getting one shortly.

Thanks

Couldn't find official figures, but from sites and forum banter, low 11 is more than possible, top speeds pushing a tad over 120Mph (190+k/ph). One guy even claimed high 10s and over 130mph ( 208k)

ok, cool, what im looking at doing is getting a 05 zx6r, adding a exhaust and filter, computer, and a NOS kit and aiming for a 9sec.

For the money and trouble you could get a ZX10 that would do it out of the box.

You can get underseat exhausts for an 04/05 ZX-10R or wait for the new model to come out.

And a 6R should be good for high 10's with a competent jockey on board.

Also, are you going to ride this thing on the street?

mate..suspension plays more a part at the drags...
i ran 11.1 with stock bike (can only) and rode it to the track, and home again..
a guy there (we call him Bin Laden) has a gix1000 ..its got a bit of work on it motor wise, but he could only get down to abt 10.3..so wot does he do??....dropped the forks thru the tree abt 20mm, and compressed the suspension by getting a mate to sit on tank, then uses tie down to rope the suspension so its bottoming out....then he lowered the rear sum how & set rear shock to "hard as fuck"...
the bike sits abt an inch off the ground...and does 9.7- 9.8 regularly....
he doesnt wheelie of the lights, and cant turn the bitch tho..so it goes on the trailer ...

yes I refuse to strap my bikes, i want to run it in the same trim i ride it to work every day

STOCK, no strap (set the suspension up for your weight etc.) high 10's or mid 10's if you are a gun, strap the front and it will go considerably .
Nitrous

thanks guys, id prefer not to do suspension mods to start, as i wabt to keep it a street bike, rather than a drag bike.

No, it wont be ridden on the street till i ge my P's in july, but i got the cash so i dont want to wait.

still deciding on what to get though.

A friend of mine ran a 10.9 at EC on a near stock 04 ZX10. The same night another firend ran a 10.505 on a stock 04 GSXR1000.
