My 'new' Kwaka...

Postby bonester » Mon Dec 19, 2005 7:31 am

Had no intention of buying another bike, but this one fell into my lap at the 'right' price, so I couldn't resist. Love the old buses- so comfy, and sound great with a 4 into 1. (This one came with original pipes too.) :D

Dunno what to do with it- a bit big to teach on. Friend of mine also has one which she wants me to paint- will probably do them up as twins....
Gotta ride to Nowra and back in May- might be more comfy and licence friendly than the ZZR. 8)
2 X ZRX1200R 4 X ER6N, GT550, 1988 ZX-10, 4 X GPZ250R, 4 X GPZ900R and GPZ750R :) Yeah I like Kawasakis.

Brings back some memories in a time when dinosaurs ruled and I was too young/little to ride one :)
Heaps of storage and looks in good nick too, good pick up 8)

(I seen the GT on the side and nearly got excited, Suzuki GT750, I had the GT350 in 1986-90. Yeah I know but Suki's were good back then )

Yep Scotty those GTs were AWESOME. 750 two stroke...electric/kick start. Grunty for a two stroke..weird. Sounded a little like a V8. Hmmmmmm. Never got to ride the Kawasaki version unfortunately- supposedly a much quicker/more evil bike!

So that's where you've been...good thing or I'd have roped you into doing swingarm bearings on the XJ :D

Nice bike...

Plenty of storage...just make it your support bike... 8)

Yep might do just that. You shoulda called me re the swinger bearings. Might need to do the GTs too- abit funny in the rear. I did over inflate the tyres which may have contributed to it. (they still are)- read the correct pressures from the manual since.(it came with service manual, levers, disc lock and spare clutch cable too.)
Needs a park bulb, new front brake rotors and a seal in the engine replaced as far as I can see for RWC. No biggie.

Is it really? I have recommended one of my students look at a 550 Zephyr- affordable and modern. The GT is a heavy bus...hope the Zeph isn't.

Nope bought off a nice young fella selling the bike on ebay for his mum.....didn't look at the Redbook prices for the model apparently!

The GT750 Shaftie won the Two wheels bike of the year when it was released. Not that itys too impressive so did the BUTTUGLY VF750 with its tear drop tank.
Enjoy bonester they are a good ol' thing.
