I also have stepped from a ZZR-250 to a 91 ZXR-750....I wanted a ZX-9 but was out of my price range....But now I'm glad I have a 7. It's helped my riding to no end.

I can't compare it with any other bike on the market as I havn't riden anything else.
I had ZXR-750

But now I have a 2000 ZX9-R :P

Just an update, i've decided to buy a zx636. Mostly due to financial reasons. But also because they're newer and lighter(im a lightweight at 66kg) and i need to "relearn" how to ride on something a little more forgiving. I will be doing mostly commutes and trackdays, and maybe a couple of rideouts a month.

I test rode one a week ago and i fell in love, its got one of the nicest bike shapes i've ever laid eyes on. The ride was very comfy for the 5 minutes on country roads. However i found there was more weight on my wrists than my old 6 or 1 and rather than sitting in it like a yammie i was more perched on top, i guess its something i'll have to adapt to and change my riding style slightly. Also i finally realised what the deal is with people complaining about the tacho, maybe a double bubble will fix that. oh yeah i love the underseat storage, you can fit a whole helmet under there...NOT

Also even after a year without a bike, i'm still a LITTLE disappointed in the power, coming from an R1. In the end its still only a 600 but i know it'll still entertain me no end. I did a superbike school on an R1, it'd be interesting to see what the 636 is like in that environment and whether i can learn something different from last time. Plus i'm on 10 demerit points, so the thous will have my license in pieces before i realise.

Thanks for all your advice, hope to see you guys out on the road soon.

Obviously I was trailing because I choose to (ZX12R) but for an older style bike (couldn't give you a year) seemed pretty impressive.

If this romp was westbound along the Logan Motorway then it was an 02 model :D
Ain't nuthin to see here..... move along

A little while ago I went on a ride with a zx6 99 and 1993 ZX7, as we were leaving our town we came to a right hander witch led to a very strait long wide road. The peaks of the engines told all. i hit mine up on one in 2nd and over took the 7r, The wheel came down and i was gone. I looked over the sholder after 500 mtrs and he was about 50mtrs back. After 3 he was about 200mtrs behind.

The S bends came and i meen the S BENDS came and the whole time the 7 was is front the 6's felt like we were being held up. when a chance poped up we took it and used it. After 30ks we rested and waited for the 7.

What im trying to say is. Dont let it hapen to you. get a ZX NINE. Set the springs to lets get out of here fast, and most of all have some fun.

Im not sure if the 7s back then are the same as the 7s today but there still a good bike aswell. It all depend on what the rider's into
1/ slow and steady
2/ Fast and hard.
Elvis didn't die alone. He had abeer in his hand, a remote in the other.................live to ride harder.
