Listen to the man, also, failing having comprehensive, do you have 3rd party property? if so, you'll be covered up to a cost of 5k or so for damage to your vehicle, which would cover replacing plastics, muffler, seat, indicators, tank (if god forbid that got scratched) and a host of other things. But you wouldn't have a "new bike" clause in your policy if it was just 3pp.

You sure bout that Mike, I was always of the impression "Third Party Property" is for the damage your bike causes to others......

This also extends to if you have someones details and they refuse to cover damage to your vehicle via their insurer. Also r.e. "no parking area", its a private carpark so it shouldn't matter if "no parking" was specified or not, the twit in the bus still didn't take due care and hit his bike.NRMA Car Insurance wrote:: Third Party Property Damage Insurance
NRMA car insurance's third party property damage insurance policy covers damages to other person's car or property but doesn't cover damages to your own car. The policy also provides you with uninsured motorist damage cover in an event that a car accident is the fault of uninsured motorist and you have their details.

Oh well look like you have to go through break-in again
