This morning on my merry way on the monash - Lane splitting as usual. I come along a BMW with a rider wearing a bright yellow vest with a blue POLICE on the back.

So I stopped lane splitting, once i got infront of him a bit (only luck by choice of lane) i lane split quickly then picked a lane.

Did the same thing until I could not see him anymore and continued lane splitting, however, would anyone else here do the same thing, or would they just lane split straight past him.

Of course ya big ponce. You shoulda just lane split past him, slapped him on the helmet on the way through and wheelied off at the next set of lights.

Cops just love that kinda stuff.

...and if he pulled you up it would just be to chat cause he'd be in awe of your skills

He'd probably ask me if I could get that Lars' guys signature, that he's a big fan.

go right....young man
and he can't touch you for breaking the rules

lane splitting/filtering to the right of any vehicle is supposedly legal
just don't smack 'im too hard on the back of the helmet on the way past
.....he might swallow his radio mike and get upset

thats the problem, I lanesplit on the left in the far right lane (if i was to lane split on the right hand side, I'd be in the emergency lane)

IF you've ever lane split on the monash, you'd know what I'm talking about (it's not legal)

The one I saw yesterday was just wearing black leathers.... and a white helmet with a blue band across it...

Sometimes they look different.... they might be standing next to the bike holding a pen and a block of writing paper....

On the way home from work the other night i got onto the M5 and the traffic was frankly shithouse. I followed the lead of another couple of riders & went down the (rather wide) emergency lane at about 60 with traffic doing 5-10km/h MAX at this point. We went past a police paddywagon who was in the left lane, didnt see any disco lights *phew*.

200m down the road i decided i better merge in so i could take my exit (from the right lane). Almost immediately after it became evident that if the copper wasn't ignoring us bike riders for the fact we weren't in the way, he was ignoring us 'cause there was a bitchin big accident that had screwed up the m5, fortunately all the cars had been pulled off the road, but the damage had been done and the road was farked utterly.

i think she basicaly said cars are crazy and would run her off the road..

i feel the same way, but in sydney its the only way to get 100m down the street.

or you can practise your slow clutch starts all the way to work...
