Racing a Z1000 in naked bike class at sporties??
Doable??
I have a whole ZX636R worth of suspension and brakes to go onto it if i can get away with it!
Give the Zthou some tuneability for the track.
Just need to piss off the stock zorst and get me a PCIII and a dyno tune.

Yep AMCN raced in one in the naked bikes a couple of years ago.
Modded the forks so both were fully adjustable and had quite a few other mods..
I've got the article somewhere if your interested..

Here you go Varden.
I tracked down a pic of what you want
A Zthou bored out 200cc
Big brakes, USD forks, clip ons, high set pegs
Basically go fast and handle good....
Might have to take the side plastic off to get it through naked scrutineering but

Just because you CAN ride, doesn't mean you SHOULD

800 bucks?? goddam, dig for me too, thats cheaper than i though it would be...hoffy wrote:I'm sure a decent suspension shop can get a little more mumbo from the front and rear suspension of a z1000.
Terry Hay (race tech) is a genius and did the track bike z1000 from amcn.
around $800 from memory, front and back new springs and revalving.
i'd be up for that...
theres a couple of ZX10's i need to keep up with...

I don't think we have a Naked bike class with the Sporties Varden, you would be running it with us in Formula Unlimited. But fear not, I think it is a good idea, because when the National round comes up you could race it in the Naked bike class there. You sure would get good practice in the meantime. It is actually something I was considering, but thought unless I am going to do a few National rounds it is probably not worth it.

Bugger!
No fun being permenant back marker in formula 1 with you lot Hemi.
I woulda prefered a pos in formula 4 with all the old stuff.
No matter, if i pick the bike up i have my eye on i will prolly tweak in up with the 636 suspension for road use.
