Just curious if anyone knows the legallity of having neons on your bike for that nice glow at night??
I thought I'd ask before I waste my time doing it to find out it's not legal. :?

think they r fine so long as they arent red or blue or amber/yellow and they dont interfere with your regular lighting.

What bike are you putting them on? Let me know how you go. I'm planning on sticking some high-intensity leds in the intake that sticks out on the 12 and then some neons around the engine. I'm sticking to Green as it will match the bike. :D

Actually the adr guidelines say most colors are reserved for emergency services etc
Red and Blue is for ambos cops and fireys
Green for the coroner
Magenta for the department of transport

They also state that the only exterior lights allowed that project forward or backwards are the ones that are standard. Pretty much everything els is illegal. So unless you like purple or pink then it isn't worth it.

I got blue LEDs which face to the sides (across the front), and have had no trouble in 50,000k. They are there to make the bike more visibe and work wonders. Not sure about neons though.

I had green ones on the 10. Friend had a club launch and my bike was on display, so i dressed it up a bit. I rode in the city with them and no one said anything. Think they were $35 for the 2 rear and $20 odd for the front from jaycar. Took all of 15 minutes to install.

personal opinions people.
i reckon they can look pretty good.
basically they're illegal, put a switch up near ur bars so u can turn em off if need be.
if u get stopped the only thing you can do is play dumb that you didn't know, and you thought they'd improve ur visability.

What about streamers off the end of your bars ?
Make yourself a can from an old galvanised dustbin and I'm sure we'll be able to get a 15" sub under the tail somewhere
