Well thanks to everyone who had input over the last few weeks or so and those who found time to offer some advice. It is all greatly appreciated.

Picked up the 99zx6r today in Sydney. Had a mate get it out of the city and I road the freeway between Sydney and Newcastle.
So with the ride home and a quick run around I've already added about 200k to the 32000 clock.

She needs a little bit of a tidy up and a bit of a clean. Does show promise though.

My mates were all telling me I would shit myself upon riding it for the first time. I found it great. The power comes on real smooth at the low end and just begs for more in every gear. Haven't strecthed her legs yet, but that will come. Cruised at 120kmh all the way home and it was brilliant.

A lot more comfy then I had expected to be honest. Since I'm only 5'4 I'm pretty much on my toes at a stop. Not a bad thing. It's sitting about half way for the ride height, so if I get around to it a mate will assist in adjusting the height, suspension set up and maybe a quick look at the pegs if needed.
The extra weight provides extra confidence as well. Niiice
Right now though I'm as happy as a pig in shit.

At a set of lights coming into town a harley filtered up the other side of the cars. I was like, there is no way I can let this guy beat me off the line so I gave it a mild squirt. I think he may still be sitting there.
My mates who were in the car behind me had a good giggle to themselves apprarently and were betting if I would do it or not.

Will be nice to be able to get to the front of the line and beat pretty much any car from the start. It aint no GPX 2fiddy but I'm pretty happy.

Got on it to test and it just felt right. Comfy, good height, loved the power and now I feel like I'm really a member of the club.

All I can say right now is woohoooo :)

For anyone thinking of making the jump to a 600 just do it but take it easy. I've only been riding for 12 months so Im not all that experienced and so far it's been a walk in the park.
Now where can I get carbon fibre front guards from ??

Oh and it would be a bit rude of me not to include a pic.
Thanks again guys/gals.

It could be just the picture but the paint looks a bit on the dull side.
Give it a good Cut --> Polish -- > Wax it will look great

Thanks guys will be getting stuck into it tomorrow so long as I can keep my arse off it for a little while. Ahh a Sunday ride :D
They come in other colours ?

A few quickies for those who have the same model. Just downloaded the manual but will get to that later.

What should I expect out of a tank of fuel (distance wise)??
Premium ok ?

The digital temp guage. Does it change colour when it gets to higher temps or are the coloured bars below the indicators of how hot it is?

How many bars on the temp guage is normal? seems to be around 3-4 which looks just below the half way mark give or take. Looks good but just checkin.

Does the bloody thing have a helmet lock thingy on it ?

I thought I read before you could do a twin headlight conversion of a newer model. Straight swap ?? Im thinking not .

What tyres do you recommened for road only use? Not too soft though.
Oh and a rough cost.

Anything I should tweak, check or leave the hell alone?
