Hey guys, since ive recently gotten back in the saddle my g/f is hooked on bikes now, she would love to have a bike of her own one day but there is a problem, she is only 5ft tall and its hard to find a bike on which she can touch the ground when sitting on the seat with out leaning the bike to far to one side...

Cause i havent been in the bike scene for about 4yrs i was wondering if and of you guys could help in suggesting a good bike for her...

Cheers

At 5 foot tall she is going to have trouble flat footing many bikes at all. Doesn't stop her riding them, but makes it harder. Viragos and the like are low. Check out the list below:

Yup she would be right. A Spada is pretty low for a sportyish bike- and they can be lowered further- it is also lower than a VTR250. (newer version of Spada.)

I to wanted a road bike, well i bought a CBR and i hated it!!!
I got a sore back, elbow, kidney issues. I was never comftable, hated riding but i loved the look of the bike. And thats where it ended.

Im not to keen on a cruiser look, bike riding one is fabulous!!
This bike i love :D

Best bet is to get her to test ride a few, looks alone does not make a bike.

well, i am 6"2 so i find my ZXR a good height for me to put my foot flat down with, but i wanted to get something Sporty, yet something which would fit my size. I jumped on my mates ZZR which he recently got and OMG i was shocked... sooo comfy, but yet so low and toury, yet i was amazed how sporty it still felt!!! if i didn't have a ZXR, it would definately be a ZZR...

so i would recomend a ZZR, as IMO the ZXR will cause a shorty some issue. but like i said thats my oppion!

You should PM Matty or Bobbi. Now Bobbi will probably kill me for saying this but she is somewhat vertically chellenged as well. She's got a ZX7 that her and Matty lowered the suspension on and cut down the seat a little. She gets along great on it. Might be worth a thought?

Nope take it from me 5'1"... GPX250, the ZZR I found a little higher. I am right at home with the GPX and have no dramas at all. :D :D

87 Ninja,

Have a look at the threads for the two motorcycle groups exclusively for girls in Newcastle, have often seen this problem on their pages and will have no doubt they will have the answer to your girls problem.

I was thinking she was a new ridier.  If so a 7 wouldn't be any good for her  If she has been riding a while then yeap what Stace said :D
