Up until now I have just been wearing a Cordura jacket which is waterproof... but I am thinking that I might buy some wet weather pants....

Only if you dont want it to rust...

Commuting 40k daily 99% on bike, I've survived last winter on dririder pants, oxtar waterproof boots, and non-motorcycle jackets + fleece. Now that I have a waterproof Motodry jacket thing's just gonna get better I think.

Theyre cheap too at $150, just don't fall off.

Yeah my jacket protects me from the rain fine.. but for lower-body (keeping in mind that I'm wearing suit-pants), what should I consider? Are there some 'leg-ponchos' or something like that I could wear?

Dryrider make wet weather pants that go over top of your suit pants...

My Wife uses Bullson ones.... easy to get in and out of and keep you dry as a bone...

Adelaide has rain?

I find full leathers do a reasonable job of keeping the rain out and without getting soaked so long as it's not raining too heavily and the commute is not too long, and you hang the leathers up to dry when you get home. If you just wear suitpants, you'll not only get soaked to the skin in just a light shower of rain, you'll also freeze as the weather gets colder and windchill becomes a real factor.

Another possible alternative if you have full leathers - I know some people who wear plastic overpants/overcoats on top of their leathers to keep them dry. It's cheaper than buying a whole second set of Dririder gear and has the bonus of being bright yellow or orange so you have a bit more visibility in dull grey light of a rainy day. Of course you look like a complete dag, but I dunno if good motorcycle apparel and good fashion style are necessarily 100% compatible.

Now I only said that when you posted a pic and I was surprised that you were in fact male, not female (me thinking of a Shaman as some Inca or Mayan witch type lady). I'm sure you're all man. Just watch out for neka!

I got the old Nordic 2 Dririder jacket and pants, but I always seem to be half way to somewhere when the rain hits, so I keep my jacket liner and a pair of $40 wet weather pants under the seat....

I've got a Dririder one piece rain suit which I whack on over the leathers and some big dishwashing gloves over the leather gloves (only truely waterproof solution I've found for gloves). Boots' I just get wet feet.

The Dririder one piece zips up into a bumbag so it's easy to carry and keeps everything out pretty well.

For winter this year though I'm thinking about a set of Dririder Nordic Pants and Jacket (I'm getting to old to freeze my arse off)
