Hey guys an gals, just was at a mates house an found out his 03 or 04 GSXR600 was stolen around 2 weeks ago from the Kedron area of brissy. Its a yellow and black model and about the only thing i can think of that is has are 2 blue rear stand mount thingys in the swingarm.

So if you see this bike or hear of anyone selling cheap gixxer parts please call me on 0409 64 0092, i definately would think he wants it back as it was stolen by a test pilot  , he wishes he got the guys licence but didnt even think at the time.

It makes you really think who you can trust these days

Thanks, Nathan.

Clearly, not test pilots........

worst mistake you can make.......even a licence is not a guarantee of an *identity*.......

best option ? No Test Pilots. They can test the bike to their hearts content, once they have bought the bloody thing......

Good luck with recovering it, hope you had some photos and bike ID....engine/frame #'s etc....

Yer Gosling, he has all the details, i will ask him once any info is given out (if any), i dont think he is holding his breath, but you never know. I guess he didnt expect it to happen, apparently it wasnt even the guys house where he met him.

Damn, that sucks.

I had my new black 636 taken from me about a month ago, only 3 months old, so young. It's probably a bit worse for your friend because he/she saw and spoke to the guy before taking off, which must really play on you. I was so angry, but I had no idea who took my bike.

Yeah, don't get burnt, always check that the bike is stolen before buying 2nd hand.

not only would u let someone not test ride yer bike beucause they will steal it, but also u won't honeslty know how little experience they might have, then who knows how many scratchs or even how written off it might become!!

A timely reminder of some good security tips when selling a bike.

If someone calls insist on calling them back on a landline, no mobiles. If possible get an address and see if the number and address check out.

Don't ever give them your address (they may use it to come back later). Meet somewhere like a servo or a bike shop etc.

Have a mate with a bike with you, preferably someone who can ride a bit. If the dude wants a test ride and you're willing to risk it, you or your mate tag along on the other bike.

Get as much id as you can, licenses, credit cards whatever. It's never certain but it's better than nothing.

Spell all of the above out when on the phone to them. Chances are if they are dodgey they won't show.

Arseholes are every where unfortunately. The best way to go is be suspicious of everyone no matter how normal they look.

that is soooo messed up. you can seriously trust no one.

i really hope he gets his bike back although i wouldnt hold my breath, if someone stole my bike i would be in tears

when i was selling my 250, i just told the guy to get on the back and pillioned him around on it, i wasnt prepared to let him take my bike on his own no way!

deffinatly the mate thing. i had a bloke come round and have a look, wanted his mate to go for a test pilot, i said that's fine and that i would be going with him on my housemates bike. it was never test ridden..
