G'day all i am only a few days away from revieving my first kawasaki, a 1999 ZX9R. i currently have a 1997 yamaha YZF600R thundercat which i have sold to a mate, only problem is he is waiting for some money to come in, should be here next week though then i can go and pick up the ZX9 i have organised :D

The bike is neat but has been dropped on one side, all the fairings have been fully fixed but there are still some scratches on the standard muffler. i can't really afford to buy an after market pipe at the minute so was wondering if anyone still had their standard pipe they would be willing to sell cheap. as long it has no scratches of course as i'm trying to neaten the bike up! lol

yeah i probably will have a look up at the wreckers but they don't tend to have many unscratched pipes. i saw the one on e-bay but it's only got 6 days left and i don't know if i'll be ready to buy by then :( plus at $110 i wasn't sure if thats a bit expensive? i wouldn't have though you could get much for a standard pipe. is that a fair price?

Standard pipes are often expensive and usually kept to increase resale value of bike. Check out e-bay and forums for slip on cans, some go really cheap - or put up with a scratch, it won't make it any slower, sound any worse or be visable while your riding

i had a look on e-bay for some slip on cans but couldn't find any for less than about $300. i mean i guess thats not so bad but it just means i'll have to wait longer before i can replace i :(
i have been looking around for a rough guide on how much a tined screen for the bike would be. is $120 about right? again this will be a little bit down he track as i still have to get enough money together for the bike lol.

Welcome, a former Across rider I assume by the nick? If you can get a stock pipe in good nick for around $100 grab it, they aren't that common and that's pretty bloody cheap I reckon.
