Insurance Qoutes are in (almost)

OK competetition is fierce for the privilege of insuring the ZX10. I've gone probably about as far as I am going to go as one competitor stands so far ahead of the rest it aint funny.
Parameters are
43yo male
2005 ZX10
Garaged
Occasional Use ie no commuting
Insured for $17000
Akra exhaust
$500 excess
Licensed 25 years, Maximum No claim, No accidents, good record
1. NRMA $1971.21 per year.
2. GIO Not interested Max no claim in NSW is 20% on bikes. Said "it's not worth quoting we will be too expensive"
3 QBE $942. Reduce to $853 if I am the only rider covered
4 Arista Haven't got my renewal yet but was $750 last year so am expecting it to go up (more on this later)
5. Shannons $638 per year. For this I get riding gear covered up to $3000 (max $1000 each piece, two piece leathers being two pieces) plus a hire vehicle for 14 days if bike is pinched.
The bloke I spoke to rode a bike, knew bikes extremely well, knew what an Akra was and the difference between a full sytstem and a slip on,chatted on the phone for about half an hour and was clearly fairly passionate about bikes.
Now something he told me which someone might be able to verify. If your insurer doesn't send you your renewal by 14 days before the expiry of your policy your next years insurance is free. He actually said this to let me know that if I don't get my renewal in the next week to stick with my current insurer for a year and then switch across. I'm sure this isn't going to happen but it was pretty cool of him to let me know.
So there you go, on top of this I know they handle their claims well and am fairly confident they will be a good call.
So it's Shannons for me by the looks.
