ZZR600 Wheel Bearings

I've got some things going on with my bike and I'm trying to sort out what the problem is. As part of this, can anyone tell me how long front wheel bearings should last on a ZZR600? The bike has done 42,500 km.

And, when/if they do wear out, what do they feel and sound like - in general what can I expect to happen?

Thanks :)

front wheel bearings on a bike (unlike a car) are the sealed type
so
if the bearings is worn or brinelled, you don't get a lot of noise
what you do get is slop or movement of the wheel
and the best test...is to jack or lift the front of the bike off the
ground ,remove the brake calipers
and slowly turn the wheel and see if there is any sideways
movement. If there is side movement..bearing is stuffed
and as the bearings are sealed there is no adjustment possible
so...replace them (as a set of 2)

I also suggest replacing the seals as well

Recent AMCN had a howto on checking your wheel bearings. im about 2 or 3 behind in the mag stakes. I think i better check mah newsagent today for a newer one.
