Ok - I had my bike tended to by Reece/Rhys at Race Replica - Brooklyn just yesterday for a major service and tune, including valve clearances.
Never before after a major service have I noticed so many good things - adjusted things - and I'm a girl - a happy one now!
Total cost if you're curious was $340 after a $30 KSRC discount.
Bye bye old mechanic.

Yah, he wasn't specific about what discount exactly, but I just said "You give Kawasaki club discounts, don't you?" and he said "yeah" and jiggled the computer a bit and the cost was less his original $370.
Mind you, the verbal quote before the job started was "around $380"
So, I reckon $340 isn't too bad ay?
Maybe it was the
classy KSRC stickers on my bike and the back of my helmet that made him melt....

A major service on a zx6 or zx10 around here is about $600..
I paid $220 for a 6000 k service last week (I suppled the oil) by Pro-Tune The advantage with that is they come to your house or place of work.
You should try Narellan Kawasaki as they are a sponsor. Long way for you though..

Well i got a quote (they seemed nice) full major 24,000 service for $380 - very reasonable if you ask me
However - I'm still very keen to learn how to do it myself so i'll probably still do it myself

Yeah I think ya should do it yourself. I have watched Tones do this and that to my baby and kinda getting it. Krafty gave them a call today for me and saved me time and $16 on centre Stand Spring for Kermie...
