couldn't resist a bargain

Having recently bent my bike and suffered the massive inconvenience of no ride till my bike is fixed I've taken the bull by the horns and brought a ZX636RB dedicated track bike...from the auctions.
I pick it up tomorrow.
I hope its not too rooted.
At worst i've now got all the parts I'll need to fix mine if i crash it again
Its been crashed and cobbled back together....badly. But its still straighter than mine
Its a statutory write off cos someone has taken off the vin plate and ground off the chassis number...stolen and recovered??
No matter, it's not going on the road again.

set me back $2000 Brett, i just hope it goes!
race glass AND slicks Bob!

It has some pretty ordinary tyres on it.
BTW what anchoring points do i need to fit the top and bottom race farings Bob?
One of the upper ones on the wreck has a busted thread in it.

main fairng is held on by 2 bolts at the top same ones that hold the screen on and the bottom of that fairing is held on by 2 bolts under the shifting gear.
Ducktail is held on by 2 bolts through some lugs on the frame and you usethe stock seat.

Ta Bob
The rest of the mounts are okay, well cept for the one that mounts the screen etc, but thats only $214 and $149 to sort those bits out.

what auction did you go to and how did you get onto it? Did you view it online only or in person? Sounds like a good way to go.
Paul.

its all there, just keep an eye out for the bike auctions once a month. they post up pics a couple of days before auction. Go to auction place for viewing on morning of auction or day before if you need to go home and do your pricing.
I could have brought an 04 ZX636R with 7000km on it for $3100ish as it was it sold for $3000. It would have been on the road with a little plastic welding and paint. It was way less farked than the wrecked one i brought off my work mate last year for $5500!

Hey Glenn, Fabrice has a glass ducktail that will fit your bike in the Parts for Sale forum under the heading "odd bits" or something similar....

Mines ex TKA stuff that was crashed to almost bits & stuck back together. Doesn't fit very well, but looks ok from a few metres away. I was told it's Wet4Uracing glass & if I was going to buy new stuff I 'd go with the Racersedge glass which was about $850? from memory.
But if you want cheaper I think Bob paid alot less than that.
