Fenderectomy Anyone?

Has anyone had a fenderectomy done, spesh on a ZZR?
I got a friend who keeps eyein mine off and wants to cut it, but I wanna see one done first. I like the idea, but I'm nervous.
A VFR friend has had hers done, and has her number plate tucked right up under the tail. It looks great, probably illegal tho.
She's been pulled over three times since it was done, and the cops haven't said a thing.

Are we talking under tails? or just cutting the rear mudflap thing back abit, so it's shorter and out of the way..
Can I can't picture an undertail, just being a cut away job.

Yep, you got it. Its cutting the rear mudflap bit/thingy to make it shorter, so it shows off more of your rear tyre.
Kinda makes the bike look taller sometimes too.

I think I might. Alls you need is a hacksaw, sandpaper and a drill....
I just wanted to see a ZZR already done first tho.

Mario's done a minor job on his... I am waiting to be legal before I got to town with mod's on mine... hehehe
I wanna tidy up my rear (Of the bike!), and some flush mounts, screen, the list goes on..... and on.... and stops with the first one, when my bank balance hits zero... hehehehe
Be a Nike girl Kaz, just do it...

Has anyone tried one of those universal fender eliminators that are
floating around...
If so what are the steps to put one on, and how do u cover under
the read section of fairing?

When someone gets one, we'll try to get them to take a few pics and to a walk through for a tutorial...

years ago when i had my zzr600 i had done a fenderdectomy. unfortunatly i dont have any pics of it then.
BUT after i sold it to a mate who was in the navy - who promptly got wiped out by a car and then went of a cruise of the south pacific and asked me to fix the bike while he was gone - i took some photos as i was sooooooo happy with how it came back.
the bike is still out there circulating and sounding fine, tim used to call it mr smoothy - cause it was a great bike.
anyway 2 photos attached, they are by no means close up's but you'll get the idea.

yeah i cute abt 6 inches off mine & left the stock undertail, as to get an
aftermarket one ($800 plus) u lose the gear rack, cos u cant hang the mounts
out from it..it still looks ok with a c/f hugger tho, altho wen its wet u do
get a dirty ductail!!
