Water Pump required for ZX9R - Fixed

Just spotted a couple of drops under the old Ninja on wednesday night after the drag races, thought it was just rain water from the ride home, but thursday and friday were dry days, still have drops under the bike, so sunday is the day of inspection, only to find i have a leak coming from the telltale hole in the pump, dirty son of a beach. So i need a pump, our friendly Kawasaki dealer (Not) in western sydney, wants a staggering $343 for one, which they dont have in stock, and i've heard far to many stories of their incompetence when it comes to ordering stock in.
I'm currently exploring the option of getting one from the USA, will be around $100 cheaper, but with the current problems with customs, i'd hate to have to wait ages for it, especially as i have a track day booked for the 20th of this month that i have already postponed once.
Does anyone know of any aftermarket sellers that are reliable, or should i just get it straight from the USA.
So what i'm after is a water pump and gasket to suit 1996 ZX9R
Thanks

Mine went a few weeks back (for the ZZR600). I was quoted the same price from Kawasaki and ended up going to a wrecker and getting one from a 2000/2001 model for $150. Seems to be ok, it's not leaking anyway
Pretty sure you have no other choice than new...

what kind of hole is in the pump? is it just in the casing?
there are many ways to skin a cat... and just as many ways to fix cracked/leaking casings/pipes

Your waterpump is the same as the zxr750 as well. try the wreckers, they'll have one off one of those bikes. If you do choose the import from US send it via fedex. I had some stuff shipped last week and it only took 4 days.

the hole he's talking about is actually a drain.
there are two seals inside the pump. the front one goes and lets water in.
the drain is there to stop water getting in the sump. this caused me to think it was a leaking hose and not the pump the w/end b4 last. and u can't just buy the seal.
i got a second hand pump from vic wreckers for $150. just call around.
u may get lucky. alternatively, i takes 5min to remove from some poor bastards 9. good luck either way

Generally the pump cannot be repaired (Have done 2 in my old 97 zx9r) Try Show and Go in WA FInd there dertails in Just Bikes or the other mag. They provided me with one for 90 bucks and 20 postage.
Simple to change too.
Hpe this helps

Well picked up a pump from Super Ninja on saturday, spent an hour or so on sunday making the swap and bleeding of the system, such an easy job compared to cars.
Its all good and no leaks, thanks to all for the advice and to Super Ninja for coming to the party with the pump.
