Ninja650R Vs 650L QLD LAMS approved

Excuse my ignorance, but I've just got my learners and keen on the Ninja 650. Just wondered if anyone can shed some light on the difference between the 650L and 650R and if both are LAMS approved. I know the 650L is as we have one in the family already, but looking at buying one that is a 2013 model 650R. Thanks
