upgrade to newer 9

if you are in melb today you would know its pretty bloody miserable so i thought, time for a day in the shed and change the oil in the 9.
headed into elizabeth st and bought the oil and filter and went for a bit of a look around. as you do.
so i see this 2002 9r, the purple/bluey colour 8600 kms, totally original, 2 x new tyres rego till jan '06 first reg 2003.
the price $9990. this seems really cheap to me??? there was a 98 in the same shop for $8990.
i had a good look at it looks straight. couldnt find any signs of a drop apart from a couple of scratches on one of the mirrors and i guess it coulda just clipped something. it has a few scuffs on the tank from a tank bag or something but looks like they should polish out.
so the plan is to take my 1995 9 in during the week when its fine. go for a test run and try to do the deal.
what would be a reasonable changeover?? my 9 has 24000 kms and is in reasonable nick for its age?
i guess they would rather have a 2002 model on the floor before a 1995?? anything i should know or particularly look for on the 2002 model??
so i better head out and go and clean the old girl up. i dont think i'll bother changing the oil. i can do that next week if theres not a newer one in the shed.
