ZZR Radial brakes

I replaced the radial Tokico calipers on my ZX12R with Nissin ones from a ZX14R. Excellent, much improved stopping power.
I now want to fit the Tokico radials from the ZX12R on the ZZR1200. Has anyone done something similar? I know it requires adapters.
Bill.

Bill - this mod has been done on bikes like Philthy's ZRX1200. The mod does require specific adapters, which I have seen for a handful of bikes - but not the ZZR1200.
The adapter plate needs to be machined up for a perfect fit. Here is a pic of the ZRX adapter....
I intend to do a similar conversion on a GPZ1000RX here, with the spare calipers from my 12.

I think you need C-C 62? Whereas the link above is for C-C 90
Otherwise - I'd just find some axial NISSIN calipers from a Honda CBR600F4/RC51/SP-1/CBR929/954..

Can someone explain to me the benefits of a radial caliper if it is still axially mounted. Doesn't seem like an upgrade to me.

Think about it - yes technically the bracket is axially mounted, but when bolted up solid its really not that different to a factory radial mount.
More choice and better calipers available.

ZZR1200 and ZRX1200 forks are the same except the dearer bike- ZZR has less adjustment

The mounting points for brakes are different.
ZRX - 90mm centre - centre
ZZR - 60mm.
ZRX - up against the fork leg
ZZR - not.
I might just forget about it for now.

I did think about it and it hurt my head, so I asked.
More choice and better? That makes sense then. Thanks.
