oxy bottle hire

looking to get oxy gear but not willing to buy the stuff and find out that gas is out of my price range i have heard many different stories about bottle hire and ownership yearly hire and monthly does anyone have or use oxy gear that could shed some light on the subject do you need an ABN to get your gas main use will be for panel work and there will be plenty of it any help apreciated :kuda:
If it aint broke don't fix it just gain more horsepower

it used to cost me a fortune for monthly rental. If you use gas for a business - it would be tax-deductable and not such a problem. But for home handyman useage - its bullshit. I gave up on renting oxy bottles over 20 years ago. I never needed an ABN to hire a set of cylinders - but things may have changed. I know the fireies fucken hate oxy/acetylene bottles in home garages.

Its a great way to weld, no doubt - especially for thin-guage stuff. I miss the old blue chisel - but I sure as hell don't miss the monthly invoices and then having to pay to fill the bottles as well !!

You can hire an oxy set at places like Kennards etc, if you only want it for a short time.

I hire a mid range bottle for my mig, I know its not oxy but the actual gas aint all that dear its the $220.00 a year rental for the bottle that's a killer

If you buy one of those little colt handyman sets it may not be to expensive just depends how much you need to use it

I've just run out after 10 years and need to go down this path, lucky for me there invoices(BOC) never found me after I changed address but I still have an account with them???
