ZX10R forks
Can anyone confirm whether the 04-05 forks are the same dimensions as 06-07 please ?
Have found an intriguing set of triple clamps to fit 04-05, looking to see if I can use them on my later bike. The two measurements are obviously the diameters at the upper and lower clamps. Even if I can get those numbers for an 04-05, I'll check myself.
Thanks in advance,
Brian

Re: ZX10R forks
I'll pull out my verniers tomorrow morning some time and get you the diameter of my '04 forks just above each clamp.

Re: ZX10R forks
The fork diameter at the top clamp is 50mm and 54 mm at the bottom clamp. I measured both above and below the clamps. This actually surprised me a little as I had never really thought about it before, but assumed that the fork tubes were the same diameter for their whole length.

Re: ZX10R forks
The 04 05 ZX10R forks have a smaller axle on the front wheel than the 06 07 ZX10R

Re: ZX10R forks
Thanks mate, much appreciated. As the lower clamp is where the suspension and braking forces are concentrated, its whay needs to be beefy, so the top part if the fork tubes and clamp can be smaller.Aussie Ninja wrote:The fork diameter at the top clamp is 50mm and 54 mm at the bottom clamp. Re: ZX10R forks
At the moment I've got a set of Attack adjustable offset clamps, but I'm musing over lashing out and getting some magnesium ex-WSB clamps. Quite likely won't happen, just wanted to do the research first.
Cheers,
Brian
