From the Brisbane Times 01/11/13 ...

" Queensland Police want recreational motorcycle riders to give them a call before heading out on the roads, to avoid law-abiding citizens being “harassed” by police.

The proposal was discussed at a private meeting between Queensland Police Minister Jack Dempsey, senior police and the Australian Motorcycle Council, which represents recreational riders and outlaw motorcycle clubs.

Authorities and the council spent more than an hour thrashing out issues surrounding the government's tough new bikie laws at Parliament House on Thursday."

Are things really getting that bad up there? Have any groups of KSRC been pulled over by QLD police and asked if they are OMCG?

When I lived in QLD we stopped publically listing group rides on a number of open forums as we were having regular roadside meetings with the fuzz, basically we went underground in secret squirrel mode. this whole new idea stinks of dictatorial control which has been a feature of Qld politics for decades IMO. Bikies drive cars way more than they ride bikes so why dont they target all cars and trucks for that matter, even the OC members know a harley isn't a fast get away vehicle or goes unnoticed

they must think all motorcyclists are 1%, from something I read a while ago there are less than 6000? oc members Australia wide verses how many licenced riders?.

The law enforcers in QLD have had a systematic program of targeting bikes for years especially in popular areas and thats somewhat understandable when incidents and public complaints with motorcycles are high. i must admit that a fair proportion of riders dont help by attracting attention by riding like idiots.

Then captain Bligh (Anna) wanted to implement gps data tracking on bikes over 800cc and you can imagine how that went down

We wont be visiting QLD unless Newman repeals the stupid fascist laws, the funny thing is the 1% ers are responsible for such a small amount of crime that while this debacle is going on, non outlaw organised crime is thriving

Guy's from what I can see there is a lot of mistruths coming from both sides of this debate and if you dare saying anything other that what some of the idiots want you to say or disagree with anything said on FB you are howled down. I have heard all sort of crap coming from misguided fools who think the sky is going to fall in on all of us. I think the Qld laws are a bit over the top but that will never stop me going there, because of some law, sometimes it is better to die on your feet than live on your knees. I find it funny that alot of the 1% clubs are calling on us all to fight this crap and yet normally they wouldn't piss on us if we are on fire because many of us ride Jap bikes. Let not forget some of these cretins once threatened a 60 year old woman in Canberra at a rally a few years ago for wearing a patch and now want her help to fight these laws, please cry me a river! where were all the dogooders standing up for her rights? As I have said I to am against stupid laws like this but sometimes we reap what we sow, and if you want to be a big dog then sometimes you have to piss on big trees.

Qld has a history of producing bizarre extremist right-wing nutjobs in positions of power.

Think Bjelke-Petersen, Pauline Hansen, Bob Katter, Clive Palmer - and now this dickhead Neuman. Can't see him winning too many more elections in Qld.......or maybe he will, who knows what drives people up there to vote for fucking idiots like Clive Palmer in the first place ?

The place is going to get a lot uglier before it gets better. Having to ring up the local plod to ask permission to do something legal - is just the biggest load of horseshit I have ever heard of.

FMD they are a pack of idiots in government up there at the moment......
