Operation Moto Safe - Eastern Victoria

Police in the east of the state will continue their focus on motorcyclist safety as they gear up for this weekend’s Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Phillip Island.

To coincide with the popular event, police have been running Operation Moto Safe since the start of the month throughout Eastern Victoria.

Operation Moto Safe is a region-wide operation, aimed at reducing road trauma involving motorcyclists.

Over the weekend, police will not only patrol in and around the race track but also major highways and arterial roads to ensure all motorists who are travelling to and from Phillip Island are doing so safely.

.....

Operation Moto Safe will run until the end of the month in the Bass Coast Police Service Area (PSA) as well as other areas across the Eastern Region including Monash, Boroondara, Whitehorse, Manningham, Maroondah, Yarra Ranges, Knox, Shepparton, Mitchell, Benalla, Wangaratta, Wodonga, Baw Baw, Latrobe, East Gippsland and Wellington.

Good to know ! as I will be heading up that way for the snowy ride early November ... although its not really the time to unleash on such a weekend
with so many bikes about .... Pity because the weather and roads look as though it will be dry and fast ...

The local bloke in his 4x4 was in Granya about three weeks ago and the last two weekends two new high patrol cars have been cruising up and down the river road but I havnt seen them go over the gap yet (luckily).
