Anyone know if its legal to ride a bike on your L's while being followed by someone with their R's but in a car in Queensland? I would like to do my Q-ride with my bike or just take my bike to a near by empty car lot to practice.

Oh god did qlders get hit with that stupid shit about L platers needing to be chaperoned? Hows that working out for everyone? Presumably less hours on road than previously?

Learners have needed to have a full licence holder with them for well over 20 yrs that I know of. How else do you get better and learn if someone is not helping you

the same way that every other jurisdiction does it - you learn on your own.
Not one other state or territory requires bike L-platers to be followed. What could learners hope to 'learn' from being shadowed anyway ? The whole concept seems bizarre to me.

It's nothing like a car where somebody can advise and correct you whilst you are controlling the vehicle. Seems pretty redundant to me.

IIRC....Once upon a time in Queensland....
A learner rider could carry a open classed licensed rider as a pillion for instruction .

I think it is good because you can 1 watch them and let them know how to improve 2 you can buffer them from the traffic behind
