Rta /rms not receiving ctp policy from insurer

I'm just wondering if anyone has tried to register a vehicle in the past week. I paid for my green slip two days ago and it hadn't gone through in the usual prompt manner. I checked last night and it hadn't gone through, so I couldn't pay it then. I tried again to pay the rego again tonight and the blasted thing hadn't gone through still.

I'll have to try and get them to re-push the policy to rta on Monday morning, which sucks as my rego hits 21 days at midnight tonight and I paid a six monther to shift my rego around on the calendar.

I figure I'll be ok as I have had positive dealings with the rta helpdesk in the past when it comes to the online rego stuff and I'd have paid my policy within the 21 days except for it being a technical snafu holding me back from paying.

so yeah, anyone else having similar fun?

Haha funny you say that.
I paid a greenslip on similar circumstances on Friday night.
It didn't come through. Went to rtA and they could find the data.

So went to NRMA and the printed me out a
Copy of the greenslip with a big fat "insured" stamp and signature on it. And said it would be ok to use over the counter.
But I didn't have time to get back today.

Called and yesterday and got to the bottom of it. Their computer system needs a bit of fine tuning.

For online ctp renewal / purchased their system appears to be only able to handle " currently registered " and " expired and out of registration for over 90 days, requires a blue slip ".

For some reason it doesn't handle "registration lapsed, still within 90 days " cleanly and send it to rms as if it needs a blueslip . Rms computers correctly reject it going " no dumbarse, it doesn't require a blue slip, only an annual / pink slip, try another category ". It returns to QBE and sits in limbo until manually pushed through as the correct type.

So they need to fix their system to cope with registration lapsed ( within 90 days) for online ctp applications. This problem does not happen when ctp is bought over the phone. Apparently their developers have been dragging their heels on this known issue for at least a year.
