A visit to the DECC

Hi guys
Whilst on a nice ride today I was pulled up and notified my exhaust was 'too loud'. A notice for referral to DECC (Department of Environment and Climate Control) ensued.
Has anyone else out there had to go through the same process ? I understand I'll hear from them and have to take the bike there and get it checked for noise, but was interested to see what experience any others have had with this and what to expect.
Thanks
mc

They were setup opposite the truckies memorial yesterday.I got a little lecture about the angle of my fender eliminator.Happy to cop the lecture cause i didnt get a defect notice for it but a mate of mine on a Zrx got a notice to get his exhaust tested.lord help any Harleys or Ducatis who went that way yesterday.
There were police all over the Putty.Popping out of the rocks with radars, unmarked pace cars(i overtook one.Oops.)

No it wasn't putty road way. Yes I also heard all about the angle of my plate. As were the other guys I was riding with. I was even shown the diagrams on a laminated A4 piece of paper from the patrol car.

The annoying thing is that it costs you 75 bucks for the privilege.

I would but, it has to be tested with the same pipe that's on it now. Can't throw the stock back on unfortunately. Was just wondering what costs are involved with getting it tested with this mob. Maybe not at all if it comes in under 94db. But I'm sure there will be something to pay for during the process.

How will they know you've changed it?

The pipe has been recorded on the paperwork.

Pull it off and roll some chicken wire tightly on the inside of the tube and slip it back on, just make sure you cut a couple of wires at the end to help lock it into some of the perforated holes in the can to prevent it from shooting out when you give her a rev if you do it right it can drop it by 4 to 6 db.
This has worked for me quite a few times.

I got defected for an aftermarket pipe (same ride with mc0555) on my zx10r. My pipe should be within the 94db range, but I'm more concerned about the missing cat. Can anyone comment on that one for me?
