2005 ZX6R - Fuel Injection

Hi Guys,

Hoping to get a little help with my bike, a 2005 ZX6R.

I'm having a problem with I think the fuel injection system. When riding once the engine temp gets over ~100C the power would suddenly cut out and the fuel seems to just not be getting through. As I was slowing down it might suddenly come on for just a second, resulting in a pretty nasty burst of power until I pull off.

On the dash the lowest light (with "FI" I think on it) would light up (which I'm guessing stands for Fuel Injection). The oil light comes on as well, but I don't think there's any problem with oil.

If I let it cool down and then hit the starter it will fire up and off I go again, until again it gets up over ~100C and the same thing happens.

Any ideas on what's going wrong? And how to fix?

Cheers

Can't answer why its happening but the fi light is just a fault light.

Get a manual of your model go through the process it explains and it will tell you which fault it is.
