hey guys,
im new to all the motorbike stuff but im really keen and interested, i am 19 and have currently booked my learner licence in and have purchased a kawasaki ninja 300 and all the gear to go with it, any helpful advice on riding, review of the bike, really just anything i am keen to learn all about everything .

Probably the simplest piece of advice I can give you is get rider training before you learn bad habits.
Go riding with experienced riders but don't try and keep up. Ride within yourself and bounce things off them continually. Most guys are more than willing to share there wisdom or lack there of.....lol

I assume that all the gear you stated is correct fitting and quality gear.
Best advice I'd give is to spend money on rider training (CSS, top rider etc) as early as you can, before you develop bad riding habits.

.... that whistle from your fuel tank is normal.

Your bike won't shrivel up and die off if you ride it in the rain.

It's not worth modding your 300 (just ride the farker, and save your dosh for when you upgrade).

It's normal for a small capacity engine to sit on high revs at 100kmph.

Insurance= good.

Yes, it's best to buy half decent gear, ALTHOUGH, wether or not you bother to wear it in all situations is a matter of much debate.

While we're discussing debates, if your going to ask anything about tires, tyres, air filters, or oil, do a quick search first. Most people are more than willing to have a mass debate over these topics. Chances are it's all been discussed before.

TRY to linger around, ask questions, post up your experiences as you go along, participate as you go along.

Post opinions, but try not to get offended if someone else's opinion differs to yours. This group of muthafarkas can sense fear and anger like Sith lords, and will play with feeble minded individuals for days, weeks, even months. And on the night you crumble and they have destroyed you, they will sleep well.

am already booking learner training and a safety course once i pass my learners, got full comp insurance, gear was a big dint to the wallet but im assuming well worth it for the safety , dont really know anyone else that rides so im kinda on my own for riding. is there any cruises or something like that anyone does in victoria, melbourne that I can participate in ?. oh and wearing the new tyres in do i just take it easy or should i look into getting an experienced rider to do it for me ?

Just take it easy. The roads can be patchy wet in the hills at the moment so be careful if you head up there.

this was the best thing about joining this place after i started riding...
