Re: Changed back to my original muffler z750 2010
Correct but total BS you can thank the government and their new hoon laws for this all it takes is a cop having a bad day and Bye bye bike for 90 days for the offence
They will be impounding a hell of a lot of Harleys and shitbox commodores/falcons/wrx/skylines etc etc if they carry on like this with the new legislation
http://statements.qld.gov.au/Statement/ ... aws-passed
scroll to the bottom and the pdf link ^
Thanks Campbell Newman
I have been getting grief since I bought the bike last week and today I fitted a new pipe with noise insert ( to be welded in later ) to avoid just this
Bloody good looking bike you got there even with the stock muffler

first thought - tell him to fcuk off and ask him to prove its not the oem one
second thought - scrub the first thought, its not going to end well. does the can have an oem part number (the old ones had the khi logo and a part number). remember where it is and when the try it on, point this out to them. and keep calm and reasonable tone so you pass the dickhead test

Carl what sort of pipe/can were you running ?
Unfortunately with this current anti-hoon legislation it relies on the officer's discretion. If you are not behaving like a dickhead , 9/10 police officer's won't even look twice at you. Sounds like you got the 1/10 though that was having a slow/bad day.

Re: Changed back to my original muffler z750 2010
I was targeted last week and was told that my bike would be impounded if I was seen to be making as much noise as I had just been making
And I was only doing 3500 rpm and under the speed limit with an older yoshi RS3 race can without provision for an insert ( I had only bought the bike 2 days previous through a dealer and had a new rwc )
So now I have a new yoshi rs3 with noise insert fitted and will tack weld the bolts into place ( so Much quieter ) bike seems a lot smoother now
Stupid law seems to deem drink driving to be less dangerous than us murderous noisy bike riding folk when it comes to vehicle impounding
Probably will never need the couple of horsepower the pipe may of provided but it was more " LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES " for me as I have been knocked off twice over the years as people changed lanes into me with nowhere to go despite sitting next to them for a couple of minutes on the hi-way whilst riding stock muffled bikes

So what become of the old pipe? Hope you were able to sell it on? I've an 06 Z750 hitting 70.000kms and need to upgrade the noise as wellas repair/replace the tank! I've never been much of a white Kwaka bike before but it just looks right on yours!

So I nearly got cleaned up because no one can hear my bike, so fuck that I now have my loud pipe back on with db killer in,
I now go riding with my brother in law who has a Ducati 848 evo with termignoni cans so I'm pretty sure he will get done for noise before I do,

Nice bike Cshat
I still find ignorant drivers love changing lanes into me, using an Akarpovic carbon.
It's tempting taking out the silencer but I know for sure i'll have a noise complaint.

I wouldn't worry about the pipe mate. The police will do you for the fender eliminator though.Jutann wrote:Nice bike Cshat![]()

I got fined $100 and 1 point for a tidy tail it was for no reflector but I think the fine would have been bigger if I was an ass about it, that's why I'm rocking the apparent stone and mud stopper, greenmeanie wrote:I wouldn't worry about the pipe mate.
