KAWASAKI S2 350 RESTORATION

WELL i finally found one to restore. its in a shambles at the moment but i intend to rectify that. its a 72 . the engine turns over! i thought it was seized going by the picks but is in pretty good nick. stripped it tonight will send to sandblasters and powder coat in next couple of weeks. if i do anything wrong or out of the ordinary i will accept any criticism or advice from anyone( yes you gosling and kawadave)
also the guy gave me a parts catalogue and worksop manual!

Where are you located?....my brother runs a sandblasting and powder coating buisiness and is/was a member here untill he sold his bike.....I'm sure he'd look after you

I will be watching with great interest...not criticize, but to offer advise if need be, and see someone else enjoying the ups and downs of a resto project.
As I've said before...nothing gives you more pleasure than bringing something back to life after so many years.

Its addictive BTW.

thanks guys , will be a slow build as i have a new job which is rotation shift. first time ever and struggling with it, but will get stuck into it every chance i get!

best bet is just to concentrate on one thing at a time. Get each thing fully finished before you start the next.
I should take note of my own advice, but insert the word 'bike' instead of 'thing' !!
but thats the best way - get the frame all done first say, then work on front/rear suspension, then wheels - to get a good tidy complete rolling chassis....then bodywork. Then engine. Engine last because that is where the most money is, and by the time everything else is done, you can't just stop without finishing the donk

this is exactly what i had planned to do. i knew i would lose some motivation at some point, so a shiny black frame attached to sparkling chrome wheels on the bench would be inspirational to get me back into it

guys i have everything stripped bare and ready for blast,powdercoat and chrome. i'm finding it diificult to split the cases. i followed the instructions on the kawatriple forum to a t but it won't budge. what am i doing wrong??
