How can you tell when your fuel pump is about to shit itself?
mine is making a funny intermitten whiney noise when i turn the key and the pump starts to prime.
There is no lack in power at any point in the rev range & still pulls hard.
Crim owners your thoughts please.

When theres no noise when you turn the key.. :-)

Have tried cleaning it out.?
The mesh filter in the bottom of mine had a heap of crap in it when I pulled it apart.

Yeah clean out the mesh.

And you can test the flow by measuring how much fuel comes out when it primes. There is a set amount that is supposed to come through.

I got a low kay used one from the UK on eBay for around $130 delivered late last year. You could get a brand new one from the states for what Metros are asking.

The outer bit is different,
But you can strip the pump bit out of the unit and swap them over.
