Howdy,

My front tyre is up for a replacement and I was thinking it'd also be a good time to get my Kaneg crash knobs fitted on my 636. Anyone able to recommend a shop to get this done or know of any tyre sales coming up (after a Michelin front tyre)? I live in chippendale but travel out west a fair bit to visit the folks and friends around liverpool. so anywhere between there would be sweet.

Ron at Flywheels at McEvoy St, Alexandria is pretty close to you and has just relinquished his Kawasaki dealership due to economic conditions and only runs the workshop now. He's a good mechanic with track experience. His prices are competitive - he won't be the cheapest but you get good service and advice.

TeamMoto in blacktown have some of the cheapest tyres in Sydney.
Jump on the Teammoto website and have a look. I bet they as the same or better than any quote you've got.
Ring ahead and get while u wait service. Speak to Shane in the workshop.
It's a good central location from most places too.

but instead go next door and support the small bloke who is happy to work on old bikes
and is happy to fit tyres from the internet for $20 a rim

I had a good run with Craig White from White's Racing Products (http://www.wrp.net.au/) getting tyres for my trackie. Great price and great tyres, what more can I say! Craig's a great bloke who spent lots of time talking to me about getting into the racing scene, even let me come out to see him at a race meeting at EC to fit my tyres. I'd recommend you give any time.

He is WAY more than just tyres if anyone is ever looking for stuff!!!

Yep Craig is really nice and offers great service but I do find it hard to trust him re advice on tires. Will sell you old stock if your not careful and offer some ordinary advice for his own benefit.

Must be that wisdom with age thing...

I do think most places that have a commercial interest in something would slant/lie or possibly even convince themselves that what they are telling you is true.
It's just human nature.

I agree....... got Tyres and work done by Glenn a number of times. usually works out better and cheaper in the long run
