Hi everyone!
Bought this yesterday and thought it might be of interest.




It is a rear ratchet tie down system which offers no compression of the bikes suspension, avoids bending or scratching of bars and avoids damaging your fairing.

It works a treat with my front wheel lock in system on my trailer.
It is made by KYA Racing and retails for $165.

Have had 2 of them, & got rid of 1 & exchanged it for a strap type one which works heaps better but No longer available...... believe me it is possible for the bike to move around under the metal ones, had a bike fall over when a front tiedown went loose, If your tiedown points are far apart then it is less effective best bet is to tie down close to the rim which tightens the curve of the tyredown.

+1 but don't make it too close or it may rub against the swingarm or caliper.

I was too slow/slack/cheap to get the strap type

Yeah best way to anchor the bikes down at the rear, me and my mates picked up the strap style ones from aldi when they were $30 each. Bikes dont even move and inch with these and front wheel clamps.

The rear points Nice n close, just a pity they are right at the back....... should be a winner anyway!
The strap one I have has a wrap around section in the middle that attaches to the tyre..... step up from the aldi ones

More impotantly Mr SNAFU....whats the G O with the All Blacks mat in one of your pics ????? I know the Wallabeens have been playing supremely shite for way too long now ,but please,has it been so bad that you have to now publicly display their supporters junk ???

I find 2 tie downs per wheel works better and for me is easier............those metal ones and the aldi type ones works good but sometimes touches the fairings and the bike do still move around..........two tie down per wheel like how I do it is near impossible to move around.........

Mate my lovely wife is a Kiwi so have to show a bit of support. But I am an Aussie fan through & through.

Yeah I 'spose you just have to be like that sometimes when your an 'other half'. I remember what it's like !!

I just use a front tie down with minimal compression and the rear tyre down. You really need those anchor points close to the rear wheel though mate. From memory the instructions say to have the mounting points 80cm- 1m apart max and slightly forward of the rear axle. All i did was put the bike one the trailer and marked 40cm from either side of the tyre and about 10cm forward of the axle. If you have them the way it's setup in the picture it's not going to work very well. Also, make sure when using it that the two metal plates are at the "10 and 2" positions on the tyre. I made the mistake of having them at "9 & 12" once and by the time I got home the entire thing had fallen off and the bike was being held by the front straps only

Go to super crap auto or something similar and get a couple of the U shaped car exhaust hangers. Drill 4 holes, mount hangers through the holes & u have two tie down point that are small & just where u need them.

*Edit* Probably best to mount them front rear orientation or something close to so the strap pulls along the line of the bolts

I don't understand why you boys have had so many problems with the tyre downs.

I've had one for around 7 years now, I think it was one of the first ones. Only cost me $100 and its never even thought of letting the bike fall. Trust me I go on some seriously twisty roads on the way to broady in particular.

I used to just put a strap around my front tyre unto the front wheel bracket but now I have a trailer mate I just put it in that and then use a tyre down.

Works perfect , maybe I just located my tie down points correctly from the get go....¿
